Fun, sociable & nutritious batch cooking classes for Hartcliffe & Withywood residents!

Funded by Jewsons

This autumn we brought Batch Cook Club to Hartcliffe and Withywood. Generously funded by Jewsons as part of their Sustainable Food Project, we ran five classes for local residents:

  • Participants learnt to make 3 nutritious recipes in our step by step class

  • They took home 6 family sized meals for their fridge freezer

  • Enjoyed a delicious and social meal

  • Receives a free oven dish and apron

  • Social connections were built in the community

  • Priority was given to Bristol City Council residents.

Through fun and friendly classes in the kitchen, we brought the social, economic and nutritional benefits of batch cooking to households in BS13.

We partnered with local organisations and supported local businesses including:

  • Zion Community Cafe

  • Hartcliffe City farm

  • Lush Greens

  • Rare butchers

  • East Street Fruit Market

  • Forest Bakery

  • Buxton butchers

We’ve had great feedback from participants and hope to secure funding for further classes in 2024.
